Six postgraduate students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos (UNILAG), have been selected to participate in the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme at IMT Atlantique, France. The programme begins in September 2025.
The students are:

* Harry Osawayenmen Azamosa
* Okoegwa Usifo Stephen
* Samuel-Iluobe Olayemi Oluwakemi
* Ogunbunmi Samod Oyedele
* Mahmud Tijani
All six are pursuing Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at UNILAG and will take part in courses across three specialisations: Process and Bioprocess Engineering, Project Management for Environmental and Energy Engineering (PM3E), and Nuclear Engineering Production and Industrial Application (NEPIA).
At a presentation ceremony on August 22, 2025, UNILAG Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, commended the students and urged them to use the opportunity to tackle critical challenges in the energy sector. She encouraged them to embrace knowledge acquisition, cultural immersion, and personal development.
The Director of the Office of International Relations, Partnerships and Prospects (IRPP), Professor Ismail Ibraheem, noted that the partnership with IMT Atlantique also opens doors for faculty research collaboration, particularly in process and energy engineering.
Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Professor Adekunle Adelaja, described the programme as a step toward achieving a dual Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNILAG and Nuclear Engineering from IMT Atlantique.
IMT Atlantique, established in 2017 through the merger of Telecom Bretagne in Brest and Ecole des Mines de Nantes, is an internationally recognised technological university with campuses in Brest, Nantes, and Rennes.
Also present at the session was Emmanuel Okere, a 400-level Mass Communication student, who recently returned with three colleagues from a U.S. Community College Initiative sponsored by the U.S. government. The students spent August 2024 to May 2025 studying at different colleges across the United States.
