Public primary and secondary schools in Lagos, Oyo and Delta states are scheduled to resume for the 2026/2027 academic session on Monday, September 14, 2026.
In Lagos State, schools are expected to reopen on September 14 following the commencement of the new academic session under the state’s approved 2026/2027 academic calendar.
The same date has been fixed for the resumption of public primary and secondary schools in Oyo State, with pupils and students expected to return to their classrooms on September 14.
In Delta State, the state government has also scheduled September 14 as the resumption date for schools for the new academic session.
The resumption will mark the beginning of the first term of the 2026/2027 academic year in the three states.
However, school resumption dates differ across Nigeria, as state governments determine their academic calendars independently.
Parents and guardians in Lagos, Oyo and Delta are therefore expected to make the necessary preparations ahead of the September 14 resumption date.
Other states may announce different dates as they release or update their respective academic calendars for the 2026/2027 session.
