Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has acknowledged the receipt of **₦5,626,200** from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the benefit of **96 students.
The confirmation was contained in an official letter dated **July 27, 2026**, addressed to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND in Abuja and signed by the institution’s Acting Rector, **Dr. Akanimo Edet Jonah.
According to the institution, the funds were received in three batches. A total of **₦4,212,050** was received for 72 students on June 19, 2026, while another ₦668,500 was disbursed for **11 students** on the same date. An earlier payment of **₦745,650** covering **13 students** was received on **June 1, 2026**.
The combined disbursement brings the total amount received by the institution under the student loan scheme to **₦5,626,200**, benefiting **96 students**.
In the letter, the polytechnic expressed appreciation for the intervention and formally acknowledged receipt of the funds.
The institution also conveyed its best regards to the management of NELFUND, reaffirming the receipt of the disbursement under the Federal Government’s student loan initiative.
The acknowledgement adds to the growing number of tertiary institutions confirming the receipt of NELFUND payments, as the agency continues the nationwide rollout of student loans aimed at expanding access to higher education and easing the financial burden on students.
