The MTN Foundation Scholarship Programme, established in 2010, is an annual initiative designed to recognize and reward high-performing students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions. Over the years, the programme has supported thousands of students, helping them achieve academic excellence and reduce financial burdens.
The scholarship is offered under three key categories:
MTN Foundation Science and Technology Scholarship (MTNF STS)
MTN Foundation Scholarship for Blind Students (MTNF SBS)
MTN Foundation Top 10 UTME Scholarship
Scholarship Benefits
For the 2026 edition, 400 students will be awarded scholarships worth ₦300,000 annually. This funding is renewable every year until graduation, provided beneficiaries meet academic performance and upskilling requirements.
Eligibility Overview
1. MTN Science & Technology Scholarship (STS)
Open to students in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education
Must be in 300 level (or transitioning from 200 level)
Medical students in 400 level are also eligible
Must be studying science and technology-related courses
Minimum CGPA:
Universities/Colleges: 3.0/4 or 3.5/5
Polytechnics: Upper Credit (OND)
2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)Education
Open to 200 and 300 level blind students in public tertiary institutions
Applicable to all courses
Minimum CGPA:
Universities/Colleges: 2.5
Polytechnics: 2.0 (OND Upper Credit)
Law students (5-year course): only 300 level eligible
3. MTN Top 10 UTME Scholarship
Awarded to the top 10 scoring candidates in UTME
Automatically considered based on performance
