C. Rodrigo Sáez Muñoz (Ph.D) is an experienced international professional with a life-long interest in bridging cross-cultural differences. His areas of interest include: geopolitics; climate change and water resources; history of current times; privacy in the digital age; academic standards and accreditations; and TVET as a catalyst for poverty amelioration, soft and hard skills development and a critical component in the clean energy transition. He has lived on four continents, worked on projects in over 60 countries, and possesses a deep curiosity, openness to new knowledge and experiences across a wide variety of countries, a tactful, empathetic and gregarious nature and an optimistic vision for the future.

Dr. Sáez Muñoz holds a BA in History from the United States (SUNY), an MA in International Relations from the United Kingdom (University of Kent), and a PhD in International Studies with a specialization in International History and Politics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies and Development in Geneva Switzerland. At the Graduate Institute he was awarded the Foundation Pierre du Bois Scholarship. His thesis was on privatization of water rights and services by States, sustainable and equitable resource management, and the impact of International Organizations on State decision-making. He later co-edited a magazine issue of the Société Suisse des Américanistes dedicated to future development in Chile and contributed an article on the impact of COP 25 on transition to renewable energy.

Rodrigo has extensive experience in the area of private business, having worked in various positions in the international trade sector. His private sector experience also involved more than a decade in TV production and distribution, including senior management roles. At mid-career he decided to pivot to academic pursuits in order to deepen his international and cross-cultural knowledge and personal experience. After obtaining his graduate and post-graduate degrees, he became a respected and devoted Professor of History, Politics and International Relations, eventually serving as University Provost and then as Executive Director of a Swiss private university. Currently, he serves as Secretary General of the Worlddidac Association, a seventy-one-year-old Swiss-based international trade association that is unique in working globally to improve education with all education sectors, countries and relevant national associations to develop synergies and partnership opportunities. Dr. Rodrigo Sáez Muñoz sees his mission at Worlddidac as increasing membership, particularly in the Global South, where the impact of “best practices” developed by the Association and International Organizations can have significant positive effects.
