The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke, who contested the election on the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 444,815 votes.
The result gives Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes, confirming his re-election for a second term as Governor of Osun State.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes, while the African Action Congress (AAC) recorded 1,458 votes.

Adeleke won 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11 LGAs, according to the declared results.

INEC’s declaration brings the electoral process to its formal conclusion at the level of the returning officer, although candidates and political parties retain their constitutional right to challenge the outcome through the appropriate legal channels.
The election was closely watched as a major political contest between Adeleke, who sought a second term, and Oyebamiji, alongside candidates from other political parties.
With the declaration, Adeleke is set to continue as Governor of Osun State for another four-year term, subject to the completion of the constitutional process.
