The Federal Government on Tuesday announced that Nigerian students can apply for scholarships in Mauritius from now to close on 19 April 2024.
The Federal Ministry of Education made this announcement in a statement signed by the Federal Scholarship Board Management.
“The Mauritius Ministry of Education Science and Technology is inviting application from eligible Nigerian students both Undergraduate and Postgraduate for the Academic year 2024,” it said.
“The application form is obtainable from the websites below and must be filled electronically, printed and signed: http://ministry-education.govmu.org or http://highereducationmauritius.com.
“All applicants must have applied for at least one full-time on-campus programme at a public Higher Education Institution (HEIs) of their choice (listed under Section 8).”
Applicants have been directed to either obtain a conditional offer (letter of admission) from their chosen Mauritian public HEI and summit this along with the scholarship application.
They are also required to submit an acknowledgment notice from a Mauritian public HEI that the application for the seat has been made and the appropriate application fees have been paid.
“All candidates must submit the fully completed application form and document listed under section 1-6 as part of their application to Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja on or before 19th April 2024.”
Regarding the eligibility criteria, candidates must be Nigerians, undergraduates should be above 18-years of age and should not have reached their 26th birthday by 1 January, 2025.
For the postgraduate degree, candidates should not have reached their 40th year birthday by 1 January, 2025 while their health certificates are important from recognized Government Hospitals.
“Good WAEC result for undergraduate, Masters and PhD, minimum of second class upper (2.1),” the Federal Scholarship Board Management added.
