The Federal University of Technology, Babura (FUT Babura), Jigawa State, has approved a 100 per cent waiver of tuition and school fees for newly admitted students of B.Sc Mathematics and B.Sc Physics.
The university said the initiative is aimed at making science education more accessible and encouraging more young Nigerians to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medical Sciences (STEMM).

According to the university, candidates who originally selected other programmes or institutions can still benefit, provided they meet the admission requirements for B.Sc Mathematics or B.Sc Physics.

The Registrar advised interested and eligible candidates who initially selected another institution or course to change their institution and course to FUT Babura through any JAMB CBT centre.
8. Does the waiver cover the entire period of study?
Yes.
Mrs Muhammad stated that beneficiaries would enjoy a 100 per cent waiver of tuition and school fees for the duration of their study in the affected programmes.
9. Why are Mathematics and Physics being prioritised?
According to the university, core science courses often record relatively low student interest despite their importance to technology and innovation.
FUT Babura said the waiver is expected to increase enrolment in these disciplines and contribute to the development of graduates who can support research, teaching and industry.
10. When does the waiver take effect?
The university said the waiver takes effect for the current admission cycle.
