The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates offered admission from 2021 to date to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.
The new deadline is Wednesday, September 30, 2026, giving affected candidates a final opportunity to indicate whether they wish to accept or reject their admissions.
JAMB had earlier fixed Monday, August 31, 2026, as the deadline for candidates to take action on admission offers made from 2021 to date.
The Board advised candidates with pending regular or CUIIA admission offers who have not yet accepted or rejected them to do so before the new deadline, warning them not to wait until the final day.
Candidates who accept their admission offers will be able to proceed to print their admission letters, while those who reject their offers will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted.” This will enable JAMB to update its records and maintain accurate admission data.
Candidates who are no longer studying at the institution where the previous admission was offered, or who are now enrolled in a different programme, may also accept the outstanding admission and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion of the admission, where necessary.
Similarly, candidates currently pursuing a second degree but still having an unaccepted previous admission offer may reject the earlier offer and continue with their current programme.
JAMB also clarified that candidates who have received admission in the 2026 admission exercise but still have an earlier admission offer pending should not be worried. They can reject the previous offer without any adverse effect on their 2026 admission.
The Board said the extension was granted to provide affected candidates with one final opportunity to regularise the status of their outstanding admissions and help maintain accurate, current and reliable national admission records.
JAMB, however, stressed that there would be no further extension after Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
At the expiration of the deadline, all outstanding admission offers from 2021 to date that have neither been accepted nor rejected will automatically be reverted to “Not Admitted” status and remain so on the Board’s records.
The Board therefore urged all affected candidates to take action immediately, noting that failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period will render the offer invalid
