The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTESI) in Ekiti State has officially been listed on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal, signifying a major milestone in the institution’s establishment and readiness to begin student admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a special release signed by the Registrar, Mr. Oluwole Dada (ACIS), and issued on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the Governing Council, the university announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for a broad range of academic programmes across several faculties for the university’s take-off phase.
> “The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Governing Council, wishes to inform members of the public and prospective candidates who may wish to change their institution of choice to FUTESI that the NUC has approved the following courses for the 2025/2026 academic session,” the statement read.
Approved Faculties and Programmes

Faculty of Engineering and Technology
Faculty of Computing and Information Technology
Faculty of Environmental Sciences
Faculty of Science and Technology
Each faculty has been structured to meet the demands of innovation, sustainability, and technological advancement, in alignment with national and global trends.
Under the Faculty of Science and Technology, approved departments include Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Microbiology, Animal and Environmental Biology, and Biotechnology—programmes designed to promote research-driven learning and scientific innovation.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology will offer courses in Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering, aimed at producing skilled professionals capable of addressing Nigeria’s industrial and infrastructural challenges.
In the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, programmes such as Building Technology, Estate Management and Valuation, Environmental Management, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geoinformatics, and Urban and Regional Planning have been approved to strengthen sustainable environmental and construction practices.
Similarly, the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology will offer Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Information and Communication Technology, with a focus on developing globally competitive graduates for the digital and innovation-driven economy.

The establishment of FUTESI represents part of the Federal Government’s broader initiative to expand access to specialized higher education in science, technology, and environmental management.
