The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦86,766,000 to the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, as part of its support for students in the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the disbursement notification dated 11 May 2026, the payment covers statutory charges for 608 students of the institution, ensuring that beneficiaries can continue their academic pursuits without financial disruption.
The intervention is part of the Federal Government’s commitment to expanding access to higher education through NELFUND, which provides financial support to eligible Nigerian students across tertiary institutions nationwide.
With this latest disbursement, hundreds of students at the Nigeria Maritime University are expected to enjoy relief from tuition-related financial burdens, enabling them to focus on their studies and career development.
The payment further underscores the Renewed Hope agenda of the Federal Government aimed at promoting inclusive education and reducing barriers to learning for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
NELFUND continues to disburse funds to institutions across the country as more students benefit from the student loan scheme designed to enhance access, equity and sustainability in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
