This research initiative aims to generate critical insights into how digital traceability systems are being adopted within the agricultural value chain, contributing to improved transparency, efficiency, and sustainable development in the sector.
The organization is specifically seeking Research Assistants to support field data collection activities in Kaduna State and Oyo State (Ibadan). Successful candidates will play a vital role in both quantitative and qualitative research processes.
Key responsibilities include administering structured surveys for quantitative data collection, conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and carrying out Key Informant Interviews (KIIs). Research Assistants will also be responsible for audio recording interviews, as well as transcribing and translating qualitative data to ensure accuracy and completeness of findings.
Applicants must have a minimum of two years of experience in research or field data collection. Demonstrated expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods is essential, including hands-on experience with surveys, FGDs, and KIIs. Candidates should also be familiar with transcription and translation processes and possess the ability to use digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox or Open Data Kit (ODK).
In addition, applicants must own a smartphone and be proficient in using it for field data collection purposes. A strong understanding of local community dynamics and the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders is required.
Language proficiency is a key requirement for this role. Candidates applying for Kaduna State must be able to conduct interviews in Hausa, while those applying for Oyo State must be proficient in Yoruba.
