Babcock University has signed a security training agreement with Blaze360 Security and Guards Services Limited to strengthen its security operations, improve emergency preparedness and ensure a safer learning environment.
The agreement was signed on November 2 at the office of the university’s President/Vice-Chancellor, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, with university officials and representatives of the security firm in attendance.
Speaking before the signing, Ojewole expressed confidence in the capabilities of the Blaze360 team, citing its combination of military experience, leadership and spiritual values.
He stressed that security remained a major priority for the institution, given its large population and responsibility for the welfare of thousands of students and other members of the university community.
According to him, Babcock accommodates and feeds more than 12,000 students three times daily, while its daytime population is close to 20,000 people, making effective security management essential.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that an institution of such size could not afford to treat security as a secondary responsibility.
Chief Executive Officer of Blaze360 Security and Guards Services Limited, retired Brigadier General Oluseyi Famakinwa, described the agreement as a milestone in the company’s history.
He said the firm was committed to transforming Babcock University’s security architecture through specialised training and improved operational standards.
Famakinwa added that the company had assembled a team of experts in security training, physical development and mental preparedness, with training for the university’s security personnel expected to commence within days.
He expressed confidence that the partnership would introduce a distinctive security framework capable of setting a new standard for safety and security management in tertiary institutions.
Blaze360 Security and Guards Services Limited is a Nigerian private security company providing threat management, corporate guarding, safety consultancy and risk-mitigation services to institutional, residential and corporate clients.
