The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has disbursed a total of ₦1,966,500 to Imo State University for the benefit of student applicants in the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a disbursement update, the payment, made on February 4, 2026, covers 34 students of the institution, despite an earlier indication that 31 applicants were involved.
The fund noted that the disbursement is targeted at covering tuition and other statutory charges, ensuring that beneficiaries can continue their academic programmes without financial disruption.
NELFUND added that the intervention aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to expanding access to higher education and reducing the financial burden on students.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support students across tertiary institutions in Nigeria through structured financial aid.
