The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, has honoured the Best Graduating Student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Mr. Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga, at a recognition ceremony held at the Fund’s headquarters.
Olugbenga, a beneficiary of the NELFUND loan scheme, was also unveiled as a NELFUND Ambassador, with the Fund describing his journey as a testament to the impact of access to education, resilience and opportunity.
Speaking at the event, Sawyerr commended the graduate for his academic excellence, noting that his achievement reflects diligence, discipline and the potential of Nigerian students when adequately supported.
The ceremony, described as both symbolic and inspiring, brought together key stakeholders in the education sector. Among those in attendance were the Executive Director of Operations, Mr. Mustapha Iyal; General Counsel and Board Secretary, Mrs. Funmi Alagbada; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon; and the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs at LAUTECH, Dr. Oluwafisayo Adebimpe, who represented the Vice-Chancellor.
Also present were Dr. Adetunbi Saheed Ige, Director of the Centre for Institutional Support, Alumni and Development at LAUTECH, and Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND.
NELFUND reaffirmed its commitment to promoting academic excellence and expanding access to higher education through its loan scheme and other initiatives aimed at empowering Nigerian students.
