The management of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, has announced a total ban on the activities of unauthorised paramilitary groups on campus, including Man O’ War, Opiaka, Cadet and NDLEA groups, as part of efforts to strengthen security and maintain order within the institution.
The directive was contained in an internal memorandum dated July 14, 2026, signed by the Registrar, Mr Abiodun O. Oloyede, and addressed to all full-time and part-time students.
According to the memorandum, the management observed that some paramilitary groups previously outlawed by the institution had resumed operations on campus, prompting the renewed prohibition.
The institution stated that the activities of Man O’ War, Opiaka, Cadet, NDLEA groups and other similar organisations are strictly prohibited within the campus.
It stressed that only officially constituted security personnel are recognised to maintain law and order in the institution, adding that students’ disputes, crises and disciplinary matters must not be handled by unauthorised groups or individuals.
The management directed students to report all security concerns and campus-related crises to the institution’s Security Office and the Directorate of Student Affairs for appropriate action.
It warned that any individual or group found violating the directive would face disciplinary action in line with the institution’s regulations and other extant laws.
The memorandum urged students to comply with the directive and ensure that the information is widely circulated across the campus.
