The Quality Education Development Associates (QEDA), with support from Oando Foundation, has successfully trained 40 headteachers and teachers in Mangu Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Plateau State, on Early Grade Reading (EGR).
The five-day workshop, held under the #LearnovateFlip project, aimed at equipping educators with essential skills to enhance literacy outcomes in the state.
The training covered key areas such as improving EGR instructional techniques, overcoming teaching challenges, strengthening the capacity of newly employed teachers, and fostering effective classroom management and inclusive learning environments.
Participants were also trained in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—critical components of early reading development.
QEDA expressed its gratitude to Hon. Mrs Jennifer Michael Bangtu (Education Secretary, Mangu LGEA), Dr Aliyu Shuabu (National Master Trainer), the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board (PSUBEB) team, teachers, and other stakeholders for their support and commitment to professional development in education.
The organisation reaffirmed its dedication to advancing quality education in Nigeria through innovative teacher training programmes that drive better learning outcomes.
