The Honourable Minister of Education,Dr Tunji Alausa, has lauded the commitment of Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, to advancing education in Nigeria during the commissioning of the Senate Building at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science, and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere, Ekiti State.
The state-of-the-art edifice, donated by Chief Olanipekun, was described as a significant contribution to the development of education and a lasting legacy for future generations. The Minister highlighted the importance of such investments, stating, “This building symbolises Chief Olanipekun’s unwavering commitment to education and the empowerment of future leaders.”
Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, present at the event, was commended for his support of the institution. The Minister expressed optimism that BOUESTI would continue to produce innovators and scholars who will propel Nigeria’s progress in the 21st century, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM).
“This building will not only support academic excellence but also enhance research and contribute to the advancement of STEMM education, which is critical to Nigeria’s growth,” the Minister said.
In alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s *Renewed Hope Agenda*, the Minister called on other stakeholders and philanthropists to follow Chief Olanipekun’s example, emphasising that investments in education are investments in the nation’s collective future.
He concluded with a congratulatory message to BOUESTI, heralding the Senate Building as a new chapter in the institution’s journey towards academic and research excellence.
