Three outstanding Nigerian students who emerged as global champions at the 2025 TeenEagle finals have been awarded full university scholarships by the Atiku Abubakar Foundation (AAF). The initiative is part of the foundation’s continued commitment to promoting girls’ education and youth empowerment in Nigeria.
The scholarship recipients—Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukaiya Mohammed Fema, and Khadija Kashim Kalli—were honoured for their exceptional academic performance at the international competition. In recognition of their achievement, the foundation pledged to sponsor their education from the remaining years of secondary school through to the completion of university, regardless of the institution they choose.
A letter addressed to the students from the foundation confirmed that the scholarship would cover all educational expenses, providing the young women with the financial security to focus fully on their academic and personal growth.
Established by Nigeria’s former Vice President, the Atiku Abubakar Foundation has long prioritised education, particularly access for girls and underserved communities. This latest gesture aligns with its broader mission of addressing educational inequality in the country.
“This is more than a reward for excellence—it is a reflection of our belief in the power of education to transform lives,” the foundation stated. “By supporting these bright young minds, especially girls, we are investing in a better future for Nigeria.”
Atiku Abubakar has consistently advocated for the education of girls, emphasising its importance as a catalyst for community and national development.
“When you invest in the education of a girl, you are also investing in the future of families and entire communities,” he reiterated.
The TeenEagle Global Finals is a prestigious academic competition that brings together young scholars from across the world to compete in knowledge-based and intellectual challenges. The Nigerian team’s victory was widely celebrated nationwide as a major achievement.
