There was an atmosphere of grief and sorrow in Iwoye-Ijesa and surrounding communities as family members, friends, students, and sympathizers gathered to bid farewell to Adeifa Oluwaseun, a Mass Communication student of Interlink Polytechnic, who died in a tragic motor accident along the Ijebu-Jesa/Ilesa highway on Wednesday.
The late student was laid to rest amid tears, emotional tributes, and prayers from mourners who described him as humble, hardworking, and full of promise before his untimely death.
Residents of Ijebu-Jesa, Iwoye-Ijesa, members of the academic community, football lovers, and colleagues of the deceased attended the burial ceremony to pay their last respects.
Speaking with Hope FM News correspondent, Joseph Oyelami, the deceased’s elder brother, Pastor Ariyo Stephen, popularly known as “Baba Vision School,” described Oluwaseun’s death as a painful and irreplaceable loss to the family.
He expressed appreciation to everyone who supported the family during the difficult period, including members of the media, the Nigeria Police Force, friends, and members of the football club Oluwaseun belonged to.
Meanwhile, the family has appealed to the Nigeria Police Force for the immediate release of Interlink Polytechnic students reportedly arrested in connection with the incident. The family also urged students and residents to remain calm and allow peace to prevail as they continue to mourn their loved one.
The burial ceremony ended with prayers for the repose of Oluwaseun’s soul and words of comfort to the grieving family.
