Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS) has released the approved cut-off marks for admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session, with Medicine and Surgery emerging as the most competitive course at the institution.
According to a statement issued by the university’s Director of Communications, Abdallah el-Kurebe, Medicine and Surgery will require a minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination score of 200 for admission consideration.
The university also fixed 180 as the cut-off mark for Common and Islamic Law, while several health-related programmes were pegged at 160.
The affected courses include Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, Doctor of Physiotherapy, Public Health, and Radiography.
NWUS stated that most other programmes in the institution would admit candidates with a minimum score of 150.
Courses under the 150 cut-off category include Accounting, Biology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Economics, Information Technology, Library and Information Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Software Engineering, and Special Education.
The announcement comes as universities across Nigeria continue releasing admission requirements following the conclusion of the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions.
The institution advised prospective candidates to carefully review the approved cut-off marks before applying for admission into their preferred programmes.
