Victor Osimhen’s rise in European football shows no sign of slowing, with the Galatasaray striker continuing to attract attention from top clubs despite Barcelona reportedly stepping away from a potential move.
Reports from Spain indicate that intermediaries recently offered the Nigerian forward to Barcelona as they search for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. However, the Catalan club are said to have declined the opportunity, as they remain focused on pursuing Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
Even with Barcelona out of the picture, Osimhen remains one of the most in-demand forwards on the continent, with his performances in Turkey keeping him firmly in the spotlight.
Galatasaray assistant coach Ismael Garcia Gomez has been among those to publicly praise the Super Eagles striker, describing him as one of the best in world football.
“We have very top-level players, but in my opinion, Osimhen is among the world’s top three to five strikers,” Garcia said. “He possesses an extremely high level and impressive physical strength. He presses, he defends. In addition, he has the ability to influence the opposing defence even in moments when he is not heavily involved in the game.”
Since joining Galatasaray in 2024 and later completing a permanent move, Osimhen has returned impressive numbers, scoring 59 goals in 74 appearances across all competitions. His goals have powered the club to two league titles and a Turkish Cup triumph.
His form has placed him firmly on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs. Manchester United are reportedly keen on making him their leading striker option, while Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring developments closely.
Real Madrid have also been linked with the 27-year-old, particularly amid speculation over possible changes in their coaching structure, while Atletico Madrid could view him as a replacement should Alvarez depart.
With Galatasaray reportedly valuing him at around €150 million, Osimhen is expected to remain one of the biggest names in the upcoming transfer window, as Europe’s top clubs continue to weigh their options.
