Nine undergraduate programmes at Kwara State University (KWASU) have secured full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), reinforcing the institution’s academic standing following its latest accreditation exercise.
The approval, which stems from the Commission’s October/November 2025 accreditation visit, was formally conveyed in a letter dated April 7, 2026, and signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu. The accreditation is valid for the statutory period of three years.
According to a statement issued by the university’s Director of University Relations, Saeedat Aliyu, the development reflects KWASU’s continued commitment to maintaining quality teaching, learning, and institutional standards.

Business Administration
Environmental Health Science

Computer Science
Microbiology
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described the outcome as a strong validation of the university’s academic direction and the collective effort of its stakeholders.
He noted that the reaccreditation underscores the institution’s dedication to sustaining excellence, urging members of the university community to continue delivering high-quality service in line with global best practices.
The accreditation outcome positions KWASU to further strengthen its academic offerings while maintaining compliance with national regulatory standards.
