The Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication in Morocco has launched the “Video Game Creator” training program, aiming to nurture 40 young talents in the country.
The initiative, unveiled on Monday at the International University of Rabat (UIR), is part of a collaboration with the French Embassy in Morocco.
This program stems from a Declaration of Intent signed last October under the auspices of King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron. It aims to enhance Morocco’s cultural and creative video game industry, bolstering professional and managerial skills to position the country as a global player in the gaming sector.
The nine-month program, running from January 6 to October 3, 2025, will provide full tuition coverage, employment opportunities, and accommodation for participants, reducing social and regional disparities.
Speaking at the event, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, praised the program as a model of Euro-African cooperation. He highlighted its potential to foster high-value employment opportunities and reverse the brain drain by empowering Moroccan talent in the gaming industry.
Karin Houpillart, co-founder of ISART Digital, a leading school specializing in video game development, emphasized Morocco’s unique opportunity to compete internationally due to its rich cultural heritage and promising talent pool.
The program is being implemented in partnership with ISART Digital, the International University of Rabat, and the Institut Supérieur des Métiers de l’Audiovisuel et du Cinéma.
Together, these institutions aim to build a sustainable ecosystem capable of attracting global investors and studios to Morocco, further advancing the country’s gaming industry.
