After years of uncertainty and delay, primary school pupils in Imo State have finally received their First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) examination results.
The Imo State Government announced the release of all outstanding FSLC results spanning 2020 to 2024, bringing relief to pupils and parents who had waited up to four years to obtain the certificates required for further education.
In a statement issued at the weekend, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Bernard T. O. Ikegwuoha, directed affected pupils and their parents to visit their respective schools to collect their authenticated certificates.
He appealed to pupils, parents, schools and other stakeholders to take note of the development and comply with the directive.
Ikegwuoha said the era of pupils sitting for examinations without receiving their results was over, assuring the public that steps had been taken to prevent future delays.
“All First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) examination results for Imo State from 2020 to 2024 have now been released,” the statement said.
“The era of writing examinations without results is over. Results will now be reviewed and printed from the Ministry of Education website.”
The commissioner added that from March 2026, all FSLC examination results would be accessed, reviewed and printed online through the ministry’s official website.
“As from March 2026, all released FSLC examination results will be reviewed and printed online via https://education.im.gov.ng. Please take note,” the statement added.
The development is expected to ease the academic progression of thousands of pupils who had been unable to move forward due to the prolonged delay in the issuance of their certificates.
