The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reiterated that there will be no extension of the registration deadline for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board confirmed that the registration exercise, which commenced on 3rd February 2025, will officially close on 8th March 2025.
JAMB emphasised that the deadline had been clearly communicated in all official advertisements and that prospective candidates must complete their registration before the closing date.
“This notice is particularly important given the recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination. We urge all individuals who wish to participate to register promptly and avoid waiting until the last minute,” the statement read.
The Board disclosed that over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered so far, a figure that aligns with its projections for the 2025 examination cycle.
JAMB also highlighted that its academic calendar is fixed, with several critical processes—including examinations, results management, and the admissions exercise—scheduled to follow the registration period. These timelines, the Board noted, are synchronised with those of other education agencies.
“Extending the registration period would disrupt not only the Board’s plans but also those of our partners,” the statement added.
JAMB, therefore, urged all prospective candidates to complete their registration without delay, ensuring compliance with the stipulated deadline.
