Nigerian culinary star Hilda Baci has once again put Africa on the global map by becoming a three-time Guinness World Record holder. The latest recognition comes after her September 2025 feat of preparing the largest serving of jollof rice, which also qualified as the largest serving of rice in the world.
Baci, already celebrated for her record-setting Nigerian-style jollof rice, announced the news on social media, updating her bio to read: “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.” She shared her excitement, saying, “Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026.”
The recognition was confirmed by Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering – Records Creative Team at Guinness World Records, who noted that Baci’s September jollof rice attempt simultaneously broke two categories, after a careful review of the record guidelines.
Reflecting on the achievement, Baci acknowledged the crucial role of her team, particularly @oreoluwa_atinmo, emphasizing that this triumph was the result of African collaboration, vision, and dedication. “From idea to execution, side by side, fully aligned. Sharing that moment with her made everything feel real,” she wrote.
This new milestone adds to Baci’s impressive list of accomplishments. In May 2023, she became Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records after completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon. Her journey exemplifies the power of African talent, creativity, and resilience on the global stage.
Baci also expressed her gratitude to the larger African community, saying, “To my incredible team, this is OUR win. Every long day, every detail, every push, it all mattered. To Guinness World Records, thank you for the recognition. And to everyone who supported, believed, and stood with us, my heart is so full.”
Hilda Baci’s achievement is more than personal glory—it is a celebration of African culinary excellence, teamwork, and global recognition. As Nigerian cuisine continues to gain international acclaim, her record is a reminder that African flavors, creativity, and passion are worthy of the world stage.
