Nigerian Education Loan Fund has disbursed a total of ₦16,610,900 to support students of Akperen Orshi Polytechnic for the 2025/2026 academic session. The financial intervention, announced on 7 February 2026, is part of ongoing efforts to expand access to higher education and reduce the burden of tuition fees on Nigerian students.
According to details of the disbursement, the fund will benefit 283 students of the institution. The amount released will cover tuition and other statutory charges, ensuring that the beneficiaries can continue their academic programmes without financial disruption.
The intervention forms part of the broader student loan initiative designed to provide financial relief to students across tertiary institutions in the country. Through the programme, eligible students can access funding to support their education while focusing on their studies.
Education stakeholders have continued to emphasise the importance of such interventions in addressing the growing cost of tertiary education. By providing structured financial support, the scheme is expected to reduce dropout rates and improve access to quality education for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
With the latest disbursement to Akperen Orshi Polytechnic, the education loan scheme continues to expand its reach across institutions nationwide, reinforcing efforts to strengthen human capital development and support students in achieving their academic goals.
