The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has approved the cut-off marks for admission into public Junior Secondary Schools for the 2026/2027 academic session, following the completion of the state’s admission assessment.
Here are key things parents and candidates should know:
1. The assessment was scored over 300 marks
The admission assessment was conducted as part of the requirements for admission into public Junior Secondary Schools across Ondo State.
Candidates were assessed using a total score of 300 marks, with the approved cut-off marks based on their performance.
2. Admission will be based on the approved cut-off marks
Not every candidate who participated in the assessment will automatically gain admission.
Candidates who meet or exceed the approved cut-off marks will be eligible to proceed with the admission process.
3. Public schools have been directed to begin admission
Following the approval of the cut-off marks, principals of public secondary schools across the state have been directed to commence admission for eligible candidates.
4. Education offices will coordinate the process
The ministry has directed the Zonal and Area Education Offices to coordinate the admission exercise in their respective areas.
This means parents can also approach the appropriate education office for guidance or clarification on the admission process.
5. Parents should follow official guidelines
Parents and guardians have been advised to obtain relevant information from the appropriate Education Offices or their children’s respective primary schools.
They should also adhere strictly to the admission guidelines issued by the ministry and avoid relying on unofficial information.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, said the assessment was conducted smoothly, while Permanent Secretary Dr Akindele Ige said the exercise was designed to promote a transparent and merit-based admission process.
