The National Universities Commission (NUC) has commended Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, following a positive exit report by a 21-member resource verification team on 16 proposed undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Receiving the report, the President/Vice Chancellor, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to academic excellence and assured the team that the institution would provide the resources required to sustain the programmes.
The proposed programmes span Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in fields including Advertising, Broadcasting, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Biotechnology, Business Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Food Science and Technology, Industrial Mathematics, Security and Investment Management, Computer Science Education and Dental Surgery.
At the postgraduate level, the programmes include Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Mathematics, Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
Members of the verification team praised Babcock University’s facilities, workforce and commitment to academic development. Prof. Felix Talabi of Redeemer’s University described the facilities for Broadcasting and Advertising as “above minimum standards,” while Mansur Umar Burza of the NUC recommended the provision of a physical library for the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science programmes.


The Dental Surgery verification team also commended the university for assembling a highly experienced and resourceful workforce.
The positive assessment marks a significant step in Babcock University’s academic expansion as the institution seeks to strengthen its contribution to innovation, national development and global competitiveness.
