Malawiโs Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Honorable Bright Msaka SC, on Friday held a preliminary engagement meeting with a delegation from the British High Commission ahead of Malawiโs participation in the forthcoming Education World Forum scheduled to take place in London later this month.
The meeting focused on preparations for the global event, which brings together education and skills ministers, policymakers, development partners, and stakeholders from across the world to discuss the future of education and international collaboration in the sector.
The Education World Forum is widely regarded as the worldโs largest gathering of education and skills ministers.
According to officials, discussions during the meeting centred on Malawiโs priorities in education development, international cooperation, and opportunities for partnership and knowledge exchange at the forum.
This yearโs forum will be held under the theme: โEducating for a Shared Future: Peace, Planet, Purpose and Pathways.โ
The theme is expected to drive conversations around sustainable education systems, global citizenship, innovation, inclusion, and strategies for preparing learners for future challenges and opportunities.
Honorable Msaka reaffirmed Malawiโs commitment to strengthening its education sector through collaboration with international partners and participation in global education platforms.
The minister also emphasized the importance of leveraging such forums to share experiences, learn from global best practices, and advance reforms aimed at improving access, quality, and equity in education across Malawi.
The Education World Forum is expected to attract delegates from several countries and provide a platform for strategic dialogue on shaping resilient and future-ready education systems worldwide.
