Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have directed all schools nationwide to temporarily switch to remote learning following a series of security incidents.
In a statement released on Monday, the UAE Ministry of Education announced that the directive will take effect from Tuesday, May 5, 2026, and run through Friday, May 8, 2026.
The ministry said the move is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff amid recent attacks targeting the country.
Under the arrangement, schools will suspend physical classes and adopt virtual learning platforms for the remainder of the week. Authorities did not provide further details on the nature of the attacks but assured the public that the situation is being closely monitored.
The decision underscores the government’s priority on safety while maintaining continuity in academic activities through digital learning systems.
