For 705 students, the journey into polytechnic life has officially begun at Federal Polytechnic Ayede.
The students were formally admitted during the institution’s 4th matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session, held at its temporary site in Iresa-Pupa.
Acting Rector, Dr Azeez Ojo, described the moment as more than just a ceremony, noting that it marks the start of a new phase shaped by learning, discipline, and personal growth.
He urged the students to take their academics seriously and avoid distractions such as cultism, examination malpractice, and drug abuse, warning that such choices could derail their future.
Representing the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, Prof. Idris Bugaje, the South-West Zonal Director, Ayo Aroge, encouraged students to tap into the Federal Government’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiative to build practical skills and become job creators.
Beyond the ceremony, attention also turned to the school’s growth. Ojo revealed that the Federal Government has approved a 20-kilometre road project linking key areas to the institution’s permanent site in Ayede, a move expected to ease access and support relocation plans.
He also called on stakeholders, corporate bodies, and alumni to support the institution’s development, stressing that building a strong academic environment requires collective effort.
For the new students, the message was clear: this is just the starting point and what they make of it will define the years ahead.
