The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, marked its 8th combined matriculation ceremony on Saturday, enrolling 1,164 students for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The event, held at the Ibrahim Alfa Auditorium, underscored the institution’s growth and its unwavering stance against drug abuse.
Air Vice Marshal Sani Rabe, Commandant of AFIT, highlighted the institute’s commitment to discipline and excellence.
He warned students about the consequences of drug abuse, stating, “Random drug tests will be conducted without notice, and any student who tests positive will face expulsion.”
The commandant also urged students to focus on academic excellence and uphold the values of integrity and diligence. “AFIT provides a world-class education with state-of-the-art facilities and a dedicated faculty,” Rabe said.
Since its inception in 2018 with 520 students, AFIT has grown significantly. This year, 1,164 new students were admitted out of 4,603 applicants, reflecting the institute’s rising profile.
Professor Auwal Kashim, AFIT Provost, congratulated the matriculating students and reiterated the importance of discipline, warning against violence, cultism, examination malpractice, and improper dressing.
