The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has withdrawn some results from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), directing affected candidates to participate in a forthcoming mop-up examination.
Affected candidates reportedly received notifications from the examination body informing them that their previously released UTME results had been withdrawn and that they would be rescheduled for another examination date.
According to the notification sent to candidates, “Your 2026 UTME result has been withdrawn. You will be rescheduled for the mop-up exam. Date and time will be communicated accordingly.”
Although JAMB has yet to officially disclose the number of affected candidates or the reason behind the withdrawal of the results, the development has sparked reactions among candidates and parents awaiting clarification from the Board.
The mop-up examination is expected to hold in the second week of May as part of JAMB’s preparations for the commencement of the 2026 admission process into tertiary institutions across the country.
The Board is also expected to communicate fresh details, including examination schedules and venues, to affected candidates in the coming days.
