The Dangote Group has offered automatic employment opportunities to 30 students of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) following an educational tour of its refinery and fertilizer complex in Lagos State.
The students, who visited the Dangote Refinery and Fertilizer Plant between June 14 and 16, 2026, were led by the Vice-Chancellor of FUTO, Prof. Nnenna Oti. The visit was aimed at exposing the students to large-scale industrial operations and strengthening industry-academic engagement.
According to reports, the President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, made the employment offer after being impressed by the conduct of the delegation and the vice-chancellor’s commitment to academic excellence and national development.
Prof. Oti disclosed that the offer was communicated directly by Dangote, who reportedly described the decision as a gesture of appreciation for integrity, leadership, and service to humanity demonstrated during the visit.
The 30 students are expected to receive automatic employment upon graduation, marking a significant milestone in industry support for graduate employability in Nigeria.
The development has been widely described as a major boost for students of the institution and a strong example of private-sector involvement in youth empowerment and education-to-employment transition in the country.
The Dangote Group, one of Africa’s largest industrial conglomerates, continues to expand its investment in energy, manufacturing, and agriculture, with increasing focus on human capital development.
